Dear Deer Tree by Ken Lipofski

You stand with solitude in the crowded woods with a spectacular view

Though you now stand petrified by what is happening around you.

Yet another development encroaches your life, once free and frolicking amongst the neighboring trees and foliage. Is nature’s sacredness no longer true,

As you ask, but, as you see it only makes you blue.

Why destroy a life full of bliss

to move and manoeuvre the lay of the land into this?

Now petrified.

We’ve asked the government to ask them to refrain,

But their reply was we need the tax revenue for more financial gain.
