British-style restaurant with ocean theme combined with kids’ lighthouse

Sai kung couple Andrew Wheaton and Jasmin Choi have opened a restaurant next to their Lighthouse kiddies’ play centre. They’ve called it The Cabin.

“We wanted an ocean theme,” Andrew said, “a beacon guiding the next generation.” Families may use both facilities: the play centre and the British-style restaurant. They are located on Po Tung Road between Basecamp and the Chez Raymonde restaurant.

Asked to name some signature dishes, Andrew said salmon fish pie, which is $268 with starter and desert, Lancashire lamb hotpot $238 and cottage pie $228. A three-level tea set as sumptuous as anything you would see in the Peninsula Hotel is $328 and serves two. Beer is $38, wine $45.

The Cabin has a homely and relaxed feel in white and soft blue.  Andrew and Jasmin, who are married, have lived in Sai Kung for seven years. They opened The Lighthouse three years ago and The Cabin a little over three months ago.
