“Cool, hey,” said Sadie Kaye as she packed her bags for London. Sadie was excited to discover her documentary on mental illness had been shortlisted for an award by the Association for International Broadcasting. She was on her way to the awards dinner at LSO St Luke’s on November 4.
Sadie is hoping the documentary she produced for RTHK called “Bipolar Express” will win an award in the radio creative feature category. As presenter of the programme, Sadie takes listeners on a wild comical ride through the highs and lows of bipolar disorder.
The show features several Hong Kong personalities who suffer from the disease plus Dr Barry Connell, the local authority on bipolar. The aim of the programme is to fight the stigma and stereotypes attached to mental illness and to raise understanding.
