Outward Bound has announced a range of challenging public courses for kids and adults. Marketing officer Cecilia Leong said parents may book children into the programmes — as well as themselves, on separate courses.

There are a variety of courses starting with kids from nine to 10 years and taking place over five days and four nights. Outward Bound instructors give the youngsters mental and physical challenges to develop their character, confidence and team spirit.

There are also Teen Explorer courses for 11 to 13 year olds, Youth Adventure Courses for older teenagers, and sailing challenges on the ocean-going yacht, Spirit of Outward Bound, as well as courses for adults — mentioned earlier — in leadership and team development.

The courses are subsidised to varying degrees from Outward Bound’s Education Fund.
