A serious accident occurred on Sai Sha Road at 6.20 am today. Senior Inspector Max Yip, operations chief at the Sai Kung police station, said two vehicles collided when moving in opposite directions. It appeared one vehicle had strayed to the wrong side of the road, but he didn’t know which one. Three people were injured, both drivers and a minibus passenger. They have been admitted to hospital, conscious and are not in danger, he said.
The accident led to the road being blocked in both directions until 8am, after which the police opened one lane. By 8.30 the road was back to normal. Max said no alcohol or drugs were involved and an investigation is continuing.
