The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has announced that Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District reopened on Wednesday 6 September. The beach was temporarily closed earlier for clearance work and maintenance of the shark prevention net after the typhoon.
Meanwhile, Deep Water Bay Beach and Chung Hom Kok Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District remain closed until further notice as more time is needed for repairing damaged shark prevention nets or clearing debris due to the typhoon’s impact. Red flags have been hoisted at the beaches.
Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beaches.
