The stage is being set more than three weeks in advance for the annual Jazz Concert on the forecourt of the Tin Hau Temple. The Saturday 3 February event will be the third. Previous events have shown that the jazz concert is a community highlight. You can buy food and drinks from neighbouring restaurants while enjoying the music.

As usual the District Office has not revealed much about who will actually perform. Most likely they are still getting confirmations. What they do say is that there will be performances by jazz bands, both local and from downtown, including a capella, plus musicians playing Chinese and Western instruments along with an African artist who sings Mandarin jazz songs. From 5:00 – 8:00 pm the event is free.

The jazz concert is the final event in the Sai Kung Music, Arts and Cultural Festival held in the cooler, usually dryer months. Financed by the District Council and organised by the District Office along with other organisations, it has included the street art fair and concerts of golden oldies, folk and Chinese music.
