This video was brought to BUZZ’s attention by Ken Lipofski, a Sai Kung resident until he got chased away by a king cobra. The video shows precisely the kind of thing that could happen in Sai Kung, if our snakes are unlucky enough to run into such a tough granny.
Ken and snakes have a history. He got on a plane bound for Spain after meeting a king cobra in Sai Kung. Ken was wandering on a path that runs from Lung Mei to Sha Kok Mei, probably in a day dream, when a king cobra reared up in front of him, its grinning fanged jaw just feet from his face. Ken leap backwards and fell over, bruising and cutting himself on rocks. He swears he heard the snake giggling as it slithered away. Ken’s friends laughed. “It was just a big worm.” Then Ken produced a video of the ringed serpent doing snakey things among potted plants in Lung Mei.
Ken left for Spain about two weeks later.
