A Marine Police Officer on duty at Tai Wan beach, in the Sai Kung Country Park, was taken to Eastern Hospital by Government Flying Service helicopter around 11:00 am this morning after being found in a coma by his colleagues. He is currently in intensive care at the hospital, accompanied by some friends and relatives.

Police are continuing their investigation. Eye-witnesses say he was wading, fully-clothed, in the sea when a large wave knocked him over, and he inhaled some sea-water.
