Car crashes into kerb in centre of Sai Kung demolishing six metres of railings, leaving debris all over the pavement

About 3:21 pm yesterday afternoon (19/5), a car, being driven along Po Tung Road towards Sai Kung town centre. When it reached the lay-by outside Sai Kung Lok Yuk Kindergarten it is suspected that the driver suddenly lost control and crashed into the kerb, destroying about six metres of iron railings. Fortunately, the 54-year-old male driver was not injured and he passed an alcohol test.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Photos taken at the scene shared on social media show that after the accident, the airbag of the BMW had popped out, the front bumper was loose, and fragments and parts were scattered all over the ground. Several roadside iron railings were deformed by the collision, and a bicycle originally parked next to the railings was even broken into two pieces.
