64-year-old man near Po Lo Che bus stop on Hiram’s Highway, Sai Kung hit by minibus; rushed to hospital in critical condition

A serious traffic accident occurred in Sai Kung at 7:12 pm last night (8/10), when a red minibus travelling along Hiram’s Highway towards Kowloon struck a male pedestrian near the Po Le Che bus stop. Rescue workers arrived and found the 64-year-old victim unconscious with a head injury. He was immediately taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance and is in critical condition.

Images online show the male pedestrian lying prone in the middle of the road after being hit. Sources at the scene indicate that the minibus was travelling along Hiram’s Highway towards Kowloon when the male pedestrian suddenly crossed the road. The minibus was unable to brake in time and struck the pedestrian with its right front end, sending him flying to the opposite lane and falling unconscious
