A young woman, aged between 30 and 40 years, was found floating in the sea about 10 m away from the beach at Clear Water Bay Second Beach this morning.
Police received a report around 9:09 am this morning from the beach staff that they had seen a body in the water. Rescuers arrived at the scene and recovered the victim. She was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by ambulance in a coma. She died later in hospital.
After preliminary investigation, the police believed that the incident was not suspicious and the cause of death had to be determined after the autopsy. Rescuers believe that the victim was about 30 years old and was suspected to be pregnant.
The deceased was wearing a white shirt and black trousers when she was found without any identity documents.
