Dominic and Abi Stead, well-known because of their sailing, rugby, soccer and triathlon activity, are moving back to England. After stints with Walt Disney and CBRE over 19 years Dominic decided it was time for “a lifestyle change”. Devon will be home soon to the couple and their three children, two dogs and two cats.
Dominic and Abi have put their O Pui village house on the market for $28 million. He gave sole agency rights to Catherine Giblin of The Property Shop, who sold him the semi-detached in 2003 at the height of SARS. It was rundown then, and he said he has spent a lot of money renovating the house, which is at a quiet green location.
It hurts, but he is also selling his 20ft Cornish Shrimper sailing boat after eight years of loving restoration at the Hebe Haven Yacht Club. He thinks “Tessa”, named after his first dog, might sell for $140,000. “It’s just too difficult and costly to take it back with us.”
Abi, one of Hong Kong’s best known triathletes, recently competed in the World Half Ironman Championships in Las Vegas. She came 31st in her age group. A teacher at Island School, Abi coaches the under 12 Sai Kung Stingrays girls team. All Stead kids are Stingrays. Dominic also trains the KCC under 11 football team. He plans to put his real estate credentials to work in the English west country.
