Colour Brown closes. Little Cove opens. And the landlords shuffle off to the bank.

Edwin Lee, the popular owner of Colour Brown coffee shop, has upped stakes, driven out by rent increases, and moved to Jordan.

The two-unit site at 34 See Cheung St has been taken over by a Sai Kung-born family who plan an Australian coffee shop.  A family member said they did not want to be named “so we maintain a level of anonymity.”

She said Little Cove Espresso will have “a laid-back environment similar to what you’d find on the Ozzie coastline. The decor will be slightly warm, bright and white with a woody feel.”

Then she decided to clam up, saying it was too early, plans for the cafe were still to be finalised.

If you want to see Edwin and his new shop, you will find them at G/F, Kwun Chung St, Jordan. Little Cove should open this month. Workers were beavering away on site at time of writing.
