A dog that appeared to be near death and in agony was spotted by hikers at Sai Wan recently. Several of them called the police and SPCA, Superintendent Roger Mui said.
Roger is the officer in command at Tui Min Hoi marine police base. He sent a fast patrol craft to Sai Wan beach with an SPCA inspector who was planning to put the dog to sleep.
But the inspector forgot his syringe.
The marine police and the SPCA man brought the dog back to Sai Kung where it was treated by SPCA vets. Fully recovered, it has been adopted by a Nam Wai family. Roger said the dog is now “a fat healthy pig”.
