The three-week-old Blacksmith Coffee Shop is displaying art that is raunchy to say the least. The images by photographer Simon C would make some people blanch and some blush. The display will continue at 17 See Cheung St. until June.

Yalok Chan, serving part-time at the new coffee shop, said it is owned by Lam Chan and Gum Tsang and is a sister business to the Blacksmith Tea House around the corner at Hoi Pong St. Lam and Gum have tried to create a quirky hostellerie that is like an art studio. Simon C’s photographs line one black wall. In a corner there is a display of local arts and crafts that can be purchased.

Coffee ranges from $24 to $64 for an ice drip. Mains are $78 for pasta to $138 for a sausage platter. Hotdogs are $58 to $68 and pizzas $68 to $78.

The Blacksmith Coffee Shop is just a few paces from Little Cove Coffee Shop, a haven of civilisation so popular it is often hard to get a seat.

If you like Simon C’s art, his studio is at Room 807, 70 Wing Tai Road, Chai Wan.
