Tala’s Hair Salon will move from its location on Po Tung Road in mid-summer, Owner Mojdeh Kazemi said. This came after her landlord of 18 years insisted on raising the rent to $70,000. So Moj — which is how she likes to be known — is shifting the popular hair-styling and beauty business to premises she owns opposite Little Cove coffee shop in See Cheung St.

“I think it is a wonderful move,” Manager Solomon said. See Cheung St is the most rapidly developing part of the Old Town. My Sunshine House and Blacksmith coffee shops have both opened recently.

Moj, who is Iranian, said the ground floor of her See Cheung St premises is rented so the hair salon will be sited on the first floor. “We will have plenty of space and all my staff are moving with me.” The relocation of the salon, named after her daughter, will be in August. “Operating from my own premises I will be able to relax when I go to see my grandchildren (in the USA)”. Moj lives hear Sai Sha Road with her husband Dean Bailey.
