Tala’s Hair Salon will move from its location on Po Tung Road in mid-summer, Owner Mojdeh Kazemi said. This came after her landlord of 18 years insisted on raising the rent to $70,000. So Moj — which is how she likes to be known — is shifting the popular hair-styling and beauty business to premises she owns opposite Little Cove coffee shop in See Cheung St.

Moj, who is Iranian, said the ground floor of her See Cheung St premises is rented so the hair salon will be sited on the first floor. “We will have plenty of space and all my staff are moving with me.” The relocation of the salon, named after her daughter, will be in August. “Operating from my own premises I will be able to relax when I go to see my grandchildren (in the USA)”.
