A show celebrating Hong Kong heritage was staged on the forecourt of Tin Hau Temple on Saturday 13 February afternoon. It was an RTHK, Jockey Club Charities Trust, District Council event. George Ng Sze-fuk, council chairman for about 24 years, greeted showbiz stars and visiting and local personalities in his purple jacket.
Chinese opera actors and musicians performed, but the act that attracted the most attention from the crowd thronging the forecourt was the troupe of girls fan-dancing in colourful cheongsams, that much lamented beautiful garment.
