A 25-year-old man has been arrested after police and SPCA staff found two dogs in poor condition at Tseng Tau. Here is a report from Shatin police station’s Chief Inspector Jonathan See Kwong-hung:
On January 26, a resident made a report to the police and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) after he discovered that two dogs, a male German wolfhound and a male foxhound, were in poor condition on a rooftop of a village house in Tseng Tau Village, Ma On Shan. Police officers of Shatin District attended the scene and found the two dogs, which were kept in a 100 square feet open area on the rooftop. Initial examination by SPCA staff confirmed the dogs were thin and weak but there was no superficial injury. The dogs are now kept by the SPCA for medical treatment. On 28 January, a 25-year-old male was arrested in connection with this case. The case is classified as “cruelty to animals” and will be followed up by District Investigation Team 5 of Shatin District under the police reference of MOS RN 18001453.
