Sai Kung is today (8 May) commemorating the Goddess of the Sea. It is her birthday, marked with ceremonies in more than 60 Tin Hau Temples across Hong Kong on the 23rd day of the third month of the Lunar Calendar. Happy Birthday, Tin Hau! She is the patron saint of fishing villages and a central part of Sai Kung’s heritage.
