Sonia, half-Canadian, half-New Zealander, is ubiquitous on social media and in the press. She is a good promoter of her businesses, the dance academy on Yi Chun St and a second studio at Shek Mun. The Sai Kung resident has four children from a previous relationship and recently announced she has got engaged. She presents herself as a live-wire, tough character — “I have an iron core” — who has seen off guerillas in the mountains of Columbia.
Sonia obtained her speech, dance and drama qualifications in London before beginning her travels to the likes of Colombia, then discovering Hong Kong. She now lives in Sai Kung. The Academy of Jazz combines her love of dance and drama with her passion for teaching, she says. The second floor studio in town on the site that formerly hosted a pole dancing school hosts classes for kids in jazz, ballet, hip hop and musical theatre.

This wistful, funny, enlightening script is written with both the young and old at heart. Join the celebrations as the students take to the stage to celebrate how great life can be when we appreciate what we have!
On 27 May there will be two shows by Sonia’s students of “The Magic Tool Box” at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Prices for adults (12 years and up) $120 and for youngsters $80.
