A Mr Ho, 52 years old, a delivery driver, appeared in court last week accused of leaving his dog in his car without any ventilation. The incident occurred on 28 December last year, in the open-air car park in Yan Yee Road. Ho was also accused of not looking after the dog properly when it was found to have a severe ear infection which was not being treated.
Ho stated that he lived in a public housing flat where they were not allowed to have dogs, so he took the pet with him in his van when he went to work. The defendant requested an adjournment to get legal opinion. Bail was set at $300. The case will be heard again on 1 August.
