Paddle board racers to churn up Emerald Bay waters in Sunday championships

Stand-up paddle board (SUP) enthusiasts will be racing each other in the waters of Emerald Bay on Sunday 19 August in the Fourth Hong Kong International SUP Championship. The event is organised by the Hong Kong Stand-up Paddle Board Association, founded by Sai Kung’s own Bryan Ng, who also created the Blue Sky Sports Club.

The Victoria Recreation Club (VRC) will host the championships with racing beginning at 10:00 am and the fun concluding at 3:30 pm with prize giving. Star athletes who will be competing include Michael Booth, Charlotte Spicers, Kenny Kaneko and Kate Baker. There will be races over various distances, 18 km, 16 km, 1 km and a 200 m sprint. The race start and finish points are close to the shore at the VRC so spectators can see the beautiful people perform. The public is welcome.
