Sai Kung’s second Concert for the Animals will be staged at Tikitiki Bowling Bar on Friday 30 November. If you haven’t been able to buy a ticket, don’t worry. You can just show up and pay at the door. The kids’ show starts at 5:00 pm and the adults’ at 7:00 pm.
Adults who pay $250 for entry are going to get a deal they have never seen before: Performances by four bands of local and imported musicians, CATS show numbers by the Tikitiki dancing girls, a buffet dinner, Irish dancing, free bowling, two drinks and the knowledge that they are doing good. $150 of their money will go to five animal charities: Catherine’s Puppies, Hong Kong Cats, Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation, Home Dog Home and Sai Kung Lost Found Injured Animals.
This is the second year of the Concert created by SAI KUNG BUZZ. This year the host is TIKITIKI BOWLING BAR, owned and led by animal lovers, generously sponsoring the event for the charities’ benefit. The bands performing are Village Dogs, Frankie Hollywood and the Tiki Birds, Jimmy2Times and Hudson Hornet.
Kids’ tickets are $100. This entitles them to two drinks, buffet food, dog and cat mask painting lessons, a magician show, and a dancing performance about the delightful cats and dogs waiting for new homes. The children’s show starts at 5:00 pm and runs to 7:00 pm. Then the four-hour adult show begins.
Films and photos of pets looking for families to adopt them will be screened on all the world-class nightclub’s video walls. The organisers hope the event will raise as much as $200,000 for the animal charities, all locally based.
Tickets are on sale at HK Academy, Pets Central, Resurrection Church, Tikitiki, The Hive and the above charities. Advice on how to obtain them is being spread on social media by the charities. You can book places at the Concert for the Animals by emailing reservations@urban-ent.com
Catherine’s Puppies is hoping to organise a minibus from Hong Kong Island to get you back and forth without worrying about driving, parking etc. Watch their social media for details.
