A seven car collision near the Tseung Kwan O tunnel caused traffic chaos for commuters this morning that took over an hour to clear.
A seven-vehicle collision occurred on Tseung Kwan O Road at 7:40 am today (13/1). The accident involved three taxis, three private cars and a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was slightly injured, as were the drivers of three of the cars. The motorcyclist was taken to United Christian Hospital.
Traffic in the area was seriously congested, with tailbacks for close to 5 kilometres. As of 9:00 am, the Transport Department stated that the express line of Tseung Kwan O Road (towards Kwun Tong) near Tsui Ping South Village, which had been closed earlier due to a traffic accident, had been lifted, and the traffic queue had begun to dissipate.
