New World, Sun Hung Kai Properties and Asia Standard International have presented their latest plans for a massive development of 771 flats in 86 blocks for the large piece of land of 638,000 sq. ft., currently undeveloped, at the corner of Wai Man Road and Tai Mong Tsai Road junction, Sai Kung.
In plans presented to the Town Planning Board (TPB) they want to build 936,000 sq. ft. of residential space, with a plot ratio of 1.467. They also plan to have 593 car parking spaces. The development would consist of a mixture of blocks between 3 and 8 storeys. There would also be a club house and swimming pool.
The owners originally made a proposal for development of the land in 2007 for 725 units, but this was rejected. They renewed the application in 2014 with 769 units but The TPB received over 500 submissions during the consultation period, with more than 90% expressing opposition, resulting in the developers withdrawing the application. The current application increases the gross floor area by around 1.4%
