Late last night (17 December) three men were arrested by police for being in possession of burglary tools. The incident occurred opposite The Green Villa, Ta Ku Ling San Village off Clear Water Bay Road.
The three arrested persons were aged 37, 35 and 28 and all had two way permits from the mainland. The police operation in the area started at 8:00 pm, when officers on patrol mounted an anti-burglary operation on the hillside of the Mok Tse Che and Nam Bin Wai area. Shortly before 10:00 pm, whilst officers were on mobile patrol along an unnamed road near The Green Villa, Ta Ku Ling San Tsuen (a road leading to the hillside of Mok Tse Che, about 0.5 km close to a known illegal immigrant hideout), they spotted the three men wandering “furtively”.
Acting Inspector Michael Chin immediately deployed his men to intercept the three suspects. During a search, a mixed bag of equipment, containing pliers, hammer, hand drill and cutter were found inside their rucksacks. The arrested men failed to offer an explanation about their belongings and were arrested for loitering.
Acting Chief Inspector of Police Sai Kung Division Jacky Chan Ching Kit, has appealed to all BUZZ readers NOT to leave windows or doors unsecured before going to sleep or out. He reminds us that in two recent cases of burglary, which took place in Sha Kok Mei, the occupants went to sleep with their windows widely opened, even the main doors!
