Sai Kung’s world-class nightclub, Tikitiki Bowling Bar, has agreed to host the Hong Kong Buzz Concert for the Animals for a second time. Due to be held on 29 November, this will be the third such Concert, created by the BUZZ news magazine team, benefiting five dog and cat rescue charities: Catherine’s Puppies, Hong Kong Cats, Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation, HomeDogHome and Sai Kung Lost-Found Injured Animals.
Tickets will be sold at the door on the night: $250 for adults with $150 of that money going to the five charities; tickets for children under 16 will be $150 with $90 for the charities. None of the charities’ money will be taken by the organisers for costs. Patrons who come to support the animals will be entitled to buffet food, two standard house drinks and free bowling at the ten Krakatoa Lanes. Further drinks will be served by the Tikitiki at discounted rates, just $39 for a beer, for example.
This year the Tikitiki will be staging all of the entertainment: two live bands, Tikitiki Dancing Troupe, animal mascots, juggler, musician and clown, games and workshops for kids. All musicians, dancers, entertainers and staff will be wearing animal costumes. Songs, dances and other performances will have animal themes. Last year around 450 people showed up at the Tikitiki Bowling Bar in support of hundreds of dogs and cats looked after by the charities. A rollicking good time was had by all as the liquor flowed, spirits rose and people danced in the aisles to the band music. Doubtlessly the Concert for the Animals 2019 will be just as entertaining.
A total of $41,900 was paid to each of the five charities after the 2018 event with each charity receiving an equal amount. The organisers are hoping to raise even more this year. The Concert will begin at 5:00 pm so parents can attend with children — at first there will be games, workshops, variety acts, music and dancing for the kids — then the adults’ entertainment will begin around 7:00 pm with the buffet food laid out before patrons.
Tikitiki Bowling Bar is on the fourth floor of a complex with many floors of dining, entertainment and shopping venues, known as Centro Destination Fun, at 1A Chui Tong St, Sai Kung Town.
