With the mystery illness originating in Wuhan continuing to spread around China and now the rest of the world, the Secretary for Food and Health, Sophia Chen, said that the LCSD had prepared two holiday camps as isolation centres, including Lady MacLehose Holiday Camp in Sai Kung Country Park.
With more than 440 confirmed cases nationwide, and the first confirmed case this morning (22/1) in Macau, Hong Kong must be prepared for local infection.
Once there were confirmed cases, those with close contacts with patients could be isolated. Lady MacLehose Holiday Camp staff confirmed this afternoon that the resort will be closed and reserved for a quarantine and anti-epidemic area from today. It is currently unknown when it will reopen.
The resort was used for just such an isolation centre during the SARS epidemic in 2003.
