Parked seven-seater van broken into and trashed in Pak Sha Wan car park overnight – $63,000 of property stolen

Just before 7:00 am this morning the owner of a seven-seat Toyota Alphard van arrived at his usual parking spot in a Pak Sha Wan car park to find that it had been trashed and audio equipment and auto parts stolen.

The owner was shocked to find that the right hand driver’s window had been blown off. The interior of the car was a mess, and the bonnet, headlights and anti-theft system were removed.

After the police arrived it was ascertained, after the owner of the car had checked, audio equipment worth about $13,000 and auto parts worth $50,000 were found missing from the car.

It is thought that before committing the crime, the thieves covered the dash cam lens with paper to prevent them being videoed. The case has been referred to the Criminal Investigation Team of Tseung Kwan O Police District for follow-up.

According to locals, the owner of the car parked at the site at about 1:00 am this morning. He has parked the car at the metered parking bay several times previously, but the has never had any trouble.
