Motorcyclist injured after collision with wild boar on Clear Water Bay Road

A motorcyclist was injured when he collided with a young wild boar near the junction of Clear Water Bay Road and A Kung Wan Road around midnight on Friday, 30 October.

The 38-year-old biker was riding towards Sai Kung when a couple of wild boars ran into the road. He swerved to try and avoid them, but unfortunately hit the younger one. The larger, older boar ran way, leaving the younger one fatally wounded. The biker sustained injuries to his hands and feet, and was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by ambulance after other drivers stopped to help and called the police.

FEHD staff arrived and pronounced the 2.5 ft long young animal dead. They took the body away for investigation. There has been no sighting of the larger animal.
