Large camping ground proposed for Sai Kung village

Proposals have been lodged with Town Planning Board for the construction of a large camping ground near the small Sai Kung village of Siu Hang Hau. The proposal request permission to have planning permission to use the site for
a tent camping ground and excavation of land (septic tank). The site area is about 1,205 sq m with a total floor area of about 40 sq m.

The application site

The proposed development includes areas of tent camping ground (expected capacity of 24 tents) for rental, and 4
structures with height of about 2.5m (1 storey) for office, washrooms and meter room. The site also involves excavation of land for installation of septic tank with an area of about 4.32 sq m and a depth of about 1.5m. The site is accessible via a track from Siu Hang Hau Road and Sheung Sze Wan Road. 10 private car parking spaces are provided within the site.

What the application does not mention is that the site has already been cleared, as can be seen by the Google Earth photo below.
