Cement lorry overturns on Hiram’s Highway; traffic chaos

Traffic chaos reigned along Hiram’s Highway this morning, as a cement lorry overturned near Pak Wai, Sai Kung.

The accident occured around 10:00 am, just at the tail end of morning rush hour. Traffic jams lasted for over two hours as the wreckage was cleared.

The driver was trapped in the cab, and he was later rescued and taken to Tseung Kwan O hospital; he suffered minor injuries. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
