Shek Mun Interchange is the 18th bus-bus interchange location of KMB. Tai Po District Councillor (Sai Kung North), Ben Tam, welcomes and supports the commencement of the new interchange network, “Residents along Sai Sha Road rely on Route 299X to travel to and from Sha Tin Central. With the commencement of the all-new Shek Mun Interchange, they can make use of the interchange discount between Route 299X and other routes for various locations in the urban area, providing more travelling choices and attracting people outside to visit Shap Sze Heung for leisure purpose.”
Utan Wong, KMB Assistant Operations Director (Division 3), believes the all-new Ma On Shan Interchange Bus Network can further encourage passengers to utilise KMB’s extensive bus route network, making their travelling pattern more flexible. “KMB is also planning to straighten the routing of various bus routes serving the vicinity. We will continue to closely communicate with the community and the Government on this issue. We believe such interchange network, together with the interchange discount, can create a synergy effect that offers a more direct and fast service to various locations to our passengers as well as a more efficient allocation of our resources.”
