Police received a report around 8:00 am that a two metre long snake had been found in a garden at 44 Tai Mong Tsai Road, Sai Kung. The resident said that the snake appeared in the front yard near the washing machine, where cat food was placed. It ignored the cat food but ate a three-month-old kitten. It then immediately fled along the water outlet next to it. By the time the police arrived there was no trace of the snake.

The resident still has lingering fears after the incident, saying that the snake was “very big” and it had entered the house several times this year. She also said that there were several cats in the house. She said that if she didn’t keep cats, there would be mice, but keeping cats attracted snakes.
