Fallen trees along Clear Water Bay Road causes traffic chaos yesterday afternoon (23/4) after more than 80 mm of rain fell in the Sai Kung area. All lanes of Clear Water Bay Road between Ngan Ying Road and Hang Hau Road in Sai Kung were closed to traffic in the afternoon because of fallen trees, the Transport Department said.
Bus routes in the area, including KMB’s 91 and 91M services, as well as Citybus’ 792M route, were being diverted via Po Lam Road and Anderson Road. Travel times between Hang Hau and Sai Kung town were around 45 minutes compared to the usual 20.
Also remaining in effect was a one-lane, two-way traffic arrangement on Hang Hau Road near Tseung Kwan O Hospital due to road subsidence, the department said. Traffic along Hang Hau Road will be disrupted for some days to come as the road is stabilised.
