At around 9:00 am yesterday morning (24/1), a Kowloon Motor Bus collided with a courier company’s van at the roundabout near Nin Wah Road on Sai Sha Road, Sai Kung. It is reported that the 28-year-old driver of the van left his contact information with the bus driver and drove away from the scene. Later, a 42-year-old man drove the van involved back to the scene of the incident and claimed that he was the driver involved in the case.
The bus driver was suspicious and reported the case to the police. After preliminary investigation, police arrested both men on suspicion of “obstructing the course of justice”. The younger driver was also arrested on suspicion of “driving without a licence”, “driving without third-party insurance” and “careless driving”.
In response to media enquiries, KMB stated that a non-passenger bus was hit by a van when it was approaching the roundabout at the junction of Sai Sha Road/Nin Wah Road/Nin Fung Road, causing damage to the right side of the bus. No one was injured in the incident, no KMB employees were arrested, and KMB services were not disrupted. KMB will cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the investigation.
