Woman drowns at Silverstrand Beach; suspected to be missing person

A woman drowned in Sai Kung at Silverstrand Beach at 7:18 a.m. today (15/10). She was found floating in the sea and rescued by lifeguards, but was unconscious and died at the scene.

According to online sources, the victim was a woman in her 60s and wearing a swimsuit. Witnesses reported seeing her at the beach around 4:00 am today. Police found a pile of miscellaneous items on a bench near the beach, including a backpack, slippers, and two cans of beer, believed to have belonged to the deceased.

The victim’s family members were later contacted to assist with the investigation. Sources at the scene reported that the woman was suspected to be a missing person, and the police missing persons unit was on scene to confirm her identity with the help of family members.
