
The dead boar carcass on Clear Water Bay Road
An unusual traffic accident occurred yesterday afternoon (3/11) when a van travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Kowloon was approaching the Tseng Lan Shue, Sai Kung, when the driver spotted a wild boar lying in the road. The van slowed down, but a following truck was unable to brake in time and crashed into it.
Police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene after receiving a report. The 54-year-old male driver and 60-year-old male passenger of the van sustained minor injuries and were taken to United Christian Hospital by ambulance for treatment. The 60-year-old driver of the truck was unharmed.
The wild boar was already dead at the time and was taken away by Food and Environmental Hygiene Department personnel; the cause of death is currently unknown. Police are investigating the incident.
