Van crashes on Clear Water Bay Road after avoiding dog

Around 3:15 pm yesterday afternoon (20/7), a van driver travelling along Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung lost control and crashed into a roadside manhole near Wing Lung Road in Hang Hau. The van overturned and came to rest on the other side of the road. The 61-year-old male driver, was trapped inside the vehicle. A passing driver saw the accident and called the police.

Rescuers arrived at the scene and found that the driver had already left the vehicle. He had abrasions on his hands and feet and was conscious when he was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. A Breathalyzer test result was zero.

It is reported that the driver claimed that a dog ran into the road at the time of the incident, and he lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid the dog, causing the accident.
