Around 6:00 pm last evening (26/9) police received a report that two cars collided at the junction of Hirams’ Highway and Chuk Kok Road, Sai Kung. In the accident, the 27-year-old male driver of the silver car sustained injuries to his hands and feet, and the 25-year-old female driver of the black car, was uninjured. A 29-year-old male passenger in the black car felt chest discomfort. Both were taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by ambulance. A road sign and a traffic cone were damaged in the accident.

Dashcam footage circulating online shows a black car travelling along Hiram’s Highway. As it approached the junction with Chuk Kok Road, a silver car traveling along Chuk Kok Road apparently failed to stop before the stop line and collided head-on with the black car. Both vehicles then veered onto the median strip, crashing into a road sign and a traffic cone.
The video sparked heated discussions among netizens. Comments included: “Not stopping when the car is supposed to stop is bad enough, but to drive straight out without even looking to see if there are any other cars is a problem. He should be banned from driving for life,” “He bought the license plate… not stopping when the car is supposed to stop is bad enough, but he didn’t even slow down,” and “Who would drive like that?”
