Multi-sport classes aim to develop athletes of future

$160 an hour and your child can be schooled in a different discipline each week

sport1.jpgSport4kids is running multi-sport classes for children at Wai Man Road playground throughout the summer, Operations Manager Adam Hunsley said.

Adam said the classes cost $160 per hour and are held every Saturday from 9 to 11 am. “We coach the kids in a different sport every week. One Saturday it will be soccer, the next rugby, then gymnastics or basketball and so on. Giving kids exposure to a range of sports creates more of an athlete.  Look at the way Nadal was brought up. We also want kids to develop healthy habits for life.”

A Ho Chung resident, Adam is also head coach. He has a BSc in physical education and represented Britain at volleyball.

Sport4kids is a business created by founders David Azar and William Murray, who has set it up in Singapore as well. The Wai Man playground classes are attracting about 30 children on Saturdays, accompanied by parents or guardians. For the youngest children, 18 months to two years, classes are designed to involve the parents.  For older kids, three to five, dads, mums or helpers just watch.
