Resurrection Church will revive its main outside event for Sai Kung people this year with a Christmas Community Concert.
Organiser Chris Hanselman said it will be on Friday evening, December 12, in Waterfront Park. “We’re going to have much more community involvement this year.”
The event will see a public performance by the new Sai Kung Choir, led by musician Teresa Thornton. Also appearing between 6 and 9pm will be the Resurrection Church Band and local groups such as Pineapple Jam, Irish Dancers and the Shatin College Band. Performances are planned by youngsters from HK Academy, Clearwater Bay School and the Scouts, Cubs and Brownies.
As MC Chris will deploy “my effluent Cantonese”. He is an ex-police officer and his local lingo is not that bad.
Resurrection will meet the cost of the stage, lighting and sound system. Entrance will be free, but Chris is hoping to get police permission to collect donations for Operation Santa Claus.
