As a couple Danny and Kelly Fang could hardly be more productive. He runs his own product design studio and his wife of one year produces beachwear and waterproof bags.
Danny and Kelly live at Kai Ham up the river above Ho Chung. Why? Because of their dog, Gizmo, Danny said. It’s because of him that they moved to Sai Kung. They married at One-Thirty-One restaurant near Three Fathoms Cove. Why? So Gizmo could attend.
“We’re both animal lovers,” said Danny. You will often see them on the waterfront with the dog.
Danny’s latest venture is a dog lead he designed himself. It allows maximum flexibility, he says, for tethering your dog. You can do it with one hand. Known as CLIC by High5dogs, the lead has been promoted on the Kickstarter crowd-funding site . Danny said he was trying to raise US$10,000 to fund first production. Ten per cent of the money will go to Sai Kung Stray Friends where Kelly is a volunteer.
Danny’s studio is at Fo Tan in an ex-meatball factory. There with an assistant he designs products for Asian manufacturers. Recent projects include:
- New prototype for Megaman LED track lighting
- Furniture collection for KFC franchisees
- Wicker furniture styles for the Malaysian brand, Kian
Meanwhile, Kelly works expanding her range of dry bags. They are labelled with the unforgettable brand, Vicious Venom. Kelly does all the design and prototype development herself, just like hubby, and arranges manufacturing in Guangdong. She also has a range of bikini tops and bottoms on sale at $350 a piece.
