Police are reporting a burglary in Tai Wan Village, Tai Mong Tsai Road that took place between 24 December and 6 January whilst the occupants were away from Hong Kong on holiday.
The burglars gained access via the roof, probably accessing from the empty house next door. They entered by breaking a window door. Some cash and a laptop were stolen, amounting to a value of around $12,000.
Police urge all residents to make sure all windows and doors are locked properly if you are going away, and alert neighbours so that you home can be checked regularly for any disturbance. Also, ensure that your mail box is emptied regularly by a neighbour.
