Plastic straw free town: Activists compile petition before targeting restaurants

A campaign to push Sai Kung into going plastic straw free is being orchestrated by SupportHK.org. This is a petition-collecting and activist website set up by Lisa Odell and Lindsay Robertson.
Lisa and Lindsay have set a goal of 5000 signatures after which they will canvas local restaurants and any other outlets for plastic straws.  The campaign was launched on February 3 and they already have over 4000 signatures, according to the website.

Beaches are littered with plastic, fish ingest plastic and humans in turn eat it.  Friends of Sai Kung say they are supporting the campaign as a way of raising awareness about the need for drastic reduction in single-use plastic.
