Around 8:00 am yesterday morning (1 June) a swimmer at Clear Water Bay Second Beach was seen floating upside down in the water. Many people were swimming to escape the heat. Some of the other swimmers rushed immediately to rescue him and alert the lifeguard. The lifeguard tried to resuscitate him, but to no avail. The man fell into a coma but unfortunately was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Police launched an investigation but ascertained there were no suspicious circumstances.
It was later reported that the man was 58 years old and surnamed Hung.
