A taxi driver had a lucky escape this morning. Around 2:00 am he had just dropped off three people near Nam Wai and had stopped at a nearby public toilet near Hiram’s Highway to urinate. While in the toilet he heard a squeaking sound and then a crash. He came out to find a large 20 m tall tree had fallen on to his taxi.

The 66 year old driver was shocked but not hurt. Emergency services were soon on the scene and determined that no suspicious circumstances were involved.
Firemen cleared the road after a couple of hours. It is understood that the taxi is owned by a commercial company and is a write-off.
