Yesterday lunchtime (12th) at Tsam Chuk Wan, Sai Kung, whilst the Typhoon Signal 1 was raised, a 19 metre-long yacht was swept aground with 80 people on board. At the time there were gusty winds, and it was approaching low tide.
The yacht started to tilt alarmingly and to take on some water. The owner called the police, and also alerted nearby vessels. Six or seven smaller boats arrived, and managed to take off all the passengers. No one was reported injured.
