This morning, around 8:15, a car caught fire on Hiram’s Highway close to Pak Kong. The driver jumped out immediately and, as it was so close to the Fire Station, firemen quickly opened fire jets to fight the blaze. As the fire was so intense it took about 7 minutes to extinguish.
The front of the car was severely burned; the Fire Brigade are investigating cause of the fire. As it was at the middle of the rush hour, traffic was backed up in both directions and took around an hour to clear causing major disruption around the Sai Kung area.
